VW Car-Net

Car-Net is a connectivity system installed in every new VW, and it allows you to connect to the wider world through a cellular subscription service. A six-month free subscription is included with your VW, and when it runs out, you can upgrade to one-, two-, or three-year subscriptions, with discounts for the longer plans.

Car-Net can be accessed directly from your touchscreen and via the myVW app on your cellphone.

myVW App

Remote connectivity all starts with the app. The VW app is available for iPhone and Android. Download the app and create a new account with your details. Add your VW to your account, finish registration, and you’re ready to go. Installing and activating your account is quick and simple, and help is available on the app to walk you through the process.

Once you’ve registered, you can add numerous connected services and access any of them from your driver’s seat. You can also access many of your infotainment features even if you’re miles away from your vehicle.

Connected Services

These services are available from your touchscreen or the app. We will look at a few of these connected services and how they make your life simpler, easier, and safer.

Safe & Secure

You’ll never drive alone again once this service is connected. It gives you peace of mind that help is available wherever you are in the US if trouble strikes. Safe & Secure personnel are available 24/7/365 to help you. They can assist by sending emergency assistance to your location at the touch of the SOS button. If your airbags deploy, they’ll contact you right away and provide any assistance you need.

Personnel will also send alerts if your VW reports an attempted theft, and they will help law enforcement track down your VW using your vehicle location if it’s stolen. This subscription is available free for the first five years and is renewable.

myQ Connected Garage

If you have a mQ compatible garage door, you can view its status and open or close it through your connected services.

Wi-Fi Hotspot

Your VW includes a Hotspot, activated as part of your Car-Net subscription. This allows your passengers to connect their devices seamlessly and enjoy unlimited entertainment.
